What are cookies?

Cookies we use

1. Language preference cookie (first-party, functional)

Name: locale · Lifetime: 1 year · Purpose: remember the selected language. No consent required (strictly necessary).

2. Advertising (cookie-free)

Ads on El Azulón come from local businesses and are served from our own server. They set no cookies, do no profiling and involve no third parties, so they require no consent. Should we introduce third-party advertising with cookies in the future, it would be declared here and your prior consent would be requested.

3. Umami analytics (first-party, no personal cookies)

We use Umami in cookieless mode. It sets no cookies and processes no identifiable personal data. No consent required.

4. Cloudflare Turnstile security check (required, only on “Participate”)

When you touch the first field of the Participate form, Cloudflare Turnstile loads to check that the sender is a person and not a program. It uses your IP address and technical signals from your browser; the site does not receive that data, only the result. If you only read the site, you never contact Cloudflare. Cloudflare, Inc. is a US company and may process the data outside the EU. It is required to send, so it cannot be turned off.
