The 34-year-old full-back goes straight into the starting line-up on his first appearance in Getafe blue. He joined the club last Tuesday on a one-season contract, has trained all week with his new teammates and was not included in the squad for the Conference League opener against Universitatea Craiova.

His last competitive match had been on 23 May, on the final matchday of last season, for Real Madrid against Athletic Club at the Santiago Bernabéu. That day he started, wore the captain's armband and provided an assist in his 84 minutes on the pitch. He then left the club and was without a team until signing for Getafe.

Bordalás declined to reveal on the eve of the game whether he would start, although he made it clear the defender was ready: "Dani has been working superbly. He is as ready as the rest of his teammates." Patri Moreno, Getafe's assistant coach, explained the decision before kick-off: "We are all very happy that Dani has been able to be involved. He has been working very well since he arrived and we have decided that he will start."

The other major change is Enes Ünal, who returns to the squad and the starting XI after missing two matches with discomfort. Valou also comes into the side.

Getafe's starting XI is: David Soria; Carvajal, Djené, Valou, Mojica; Kiko Femenía, Gudelj, Mario Martín, Terrats; Satriano and Enes Ünal.

Bordalás is without Christantus Uche, Juanmi Jiménez, Zaid Romero, Orel Mangala and Iván Azón, who miss out on the squad through fitness problems.
