Getafe CF and Como 1907 have reached an agreement for the season-long loan of Iván Azón. The 23-year-old forward will be part of the squad for the 2026/27 campaign and will take on his first experience in the Spanish top flight, having spent his entire career in Spain in the second division.

The deal was completed on the last day of the window. The player arrived in Madrid on Tuesday, passed a medical and signed with the club, which was looking for another attacker to face a calendar of three competitions. Getafe secured their place in the Conference League league phase last Thursday, adding that European commitment to LaLiga and the Copa del Rey.

The club has not specified whether the loan includes an option to buy. Azón remains under contract with Como 1907 until 2029.

A product of the Real Zaragoza academy, the forward played 144 second-division matches for the Aragonese side, scoring 25 goals and providing nine assists, before leaving the club in February 2025. Last season he was on loan at Ipswich Town in the English Championship, where he featured in 38 matches — 20 of them as a starter — scored five goals, provided four assists and helped the side win promotion to the Premier League.

A Spain youth international with three appearances at under-21 level, Azón is a mobile, high-intensity forward who works hard in the press and attacks space. This is not the first time Getafe have shown an interest in him: they already tried to sign him during his spell at Real Zaragoza. At the Coliseum he will link up again with Francho Serrano, a team-mate in the academy and the first team of the Aragonese club.

His arrival increases competition up front, where Enes Ünal, Martín Satriano and Borja Mayoral were already in place. Azón will start training with the group on Wednesday, with an eye on the next league fixture, against Celta on Monday.
