Sebastián Boselli will continue wearing the Getafe shirt. The azulón club have reached an agreement with River Plate to exercise the purchase option for the Uruguayan defender, who joined the Coliseum on loan during the second half of last season.
The deal allows Getafe to secure the continuity of a young footballer who is already adapted to José Bordalás's team. Boselli, 22, played 11 official LaLiga EA Sports matches for the Madrid side, four of them as a starter, and left good impressions with his defensive forcefulness and ability to play the ball out from the back.
Developed in Uruguayan football and with a later spell at River Plate, the centre-back also has international experience in Uruguay's youth categories. He was an under-20 world champion with La Celeste, a background that reinforces Getafe's commitment to a profile with room for growth.
Although the club have not officially disclosed the financial figures of the operation, different reports place the agreement at around 1.5 million euros for a percentage of his rights, with River Plate keeping part of a future sale.
With Boselli's continuity, Bordalás adds another piece to the centre of defence ahead of a season in which Getafe will look to consolidate their group and increase internal competition in a key area of the team.
