According to the club's medical report, the Argentine defender "has suffered a twinge in the quadriceps of his left leg and is awaiting diagnostic tests". Getafe added that his progress will determine his availability, without giving any timescale.

Romero, who started against Barcelona, went down clutching his left leg in the first half and was unable to continue. He left the pitch visibly upset before half-time and was replaced by Abdel Abqar, who was returning from injury. Getafe lost the match 3-0.

"Zaid says he felt a twinge. We will have to wait for the tests," José Bordalás explained after the final whistle.

The centre-back is a regular at the heart of the defence, and his possible absence comes during a stretch of the fixture list with midweek and weekend matches.

Andrés García also asked to come off in the second half with discomfort and was replaced by Sebastián Boselli. In his case, Bordalás was more relaxed: "Andrés was very tight. He hasn't had any problem, we think. He felt tight and we took him off."
