Getafe travelled to Balaídos for matchday twelve, on a Monday, arriving with 10 points and 15th place at stake.

Celta went ahead very early: Douvikas scored in the 7th minute, having been booked shortly before, in the 24th. The goal proved decisive, as there was no further scoring in the match.

Getafe were forced into an early change: Djené was injured and left the pitch in the 31st minute, as did Aberdin, who had been booked in the 22nd. Berrocal, Peter and Álvaro came on over the course of the game, with Álex Sola (62') and Uche (71') completing Bordalás's substitutions.

The decisive turn came late on: Berrocal, who had come on from the bench, was booked in the 55th minute and sent off for a second yellow in the 65th, leaving Getafe with ten men. Alderete was booked in stoppage time (90').

For Celta, Douvikas picked up a knock and was substituted in the 67th minute, on an afternoon with further changes for the home side: Manquillo (46'), Ristić (67'), Fran Beltrán (75') and Bamba (89') made way for Javi Rodríguez, Hugo Álvarez, Ilaix Moriba, Allende and Borja Iglesias.

Referee Gil Manzano took charge of the match, in which home coach Giráldez faced off against Bordalás. The defeat left Getafe on 10 points and saw them slip from 15th to 16th place.
