Getafe closed out the 2023-24 season on Sunday 26 May at the Coliseum, in the 38th and final matchday, hosting a Mallorca side led by Javier Aguirre.

Gastón Álvarez put the home side ahead in the 48th minute, with a goal that appeared to be sending them off with a win.

But the finale came in the closing minutes: Muriqi, on for Mallorca from the bench, equalised in the 90th minute, the last of normal time, and just three minutes later, in stoppage time, fellow substitute Maffeo completed the turnaround with the decisive 1-2 in the 90+3.

Bordalás had already been making changes, with Djené and Risco (71') and Óscar Rodríguez and Milla (67') coming off for Fuzato, Carmona, Yellu, Aleñá and Jordi Martín; for Fuzato, according to the match records, it was his La Liga debut, while Carmona reached his 50th league appearance. Mallorca's Nacho Vidal picked up the only booking before the closing stages, in the 30th minute; substitute Dani Rodríguez was booked in the 73rd. Maffeo's goal also came in his 150th La Liga appearance.

Referee García Verdura took charge of a match that had no effect on the final standings: Getafe closed out the league on 43 points, in 12th place.
