Getafe visited El Plantío with the Copa del Rey as an escape route from a complicated league season. They left eliminated.

The match started well. In the 32nd minute, Sancris made it 0-1 and Getafe led the scoreboard for almost all of the first half.

But in the 45+3, David González converted a penalty for 1-1 and handed the tie back to Burgos right before the interval.

The second half belonged to Córdoba, who had come off the bench. He scored in the 57th and the 73rd for his first Copa del Rey brace and settled the tie.

Bordalás brought on Domingos Duarte, Milla, Liso, Kiko Femenía and Solozábal, to no effect. Laso and Liso were booked. De Burgos Bengoetxea refereed the match.
