Getafe visited the Ciutat de València eighth and on 41 points, in the thick of the fight for Europe. They left on the same 41 and with the feeling of having lost a match their hosts did everything not to win.
Levante spared them twice from twelve yards. The first in the 61st minute, with Dela taking it. The second in the 90th, in a closing spell that went wrong for Getafe in two ways at once.
In between, in the 83rd, came the only goal of the game. It was scored by Espí, who had been booked in the 11th minute and was substituted four minutes after finding the net.
The ending left Getafe with ten: Zaid Romero, cautioned in the 78th, was shown a second yellow in the 90th and sent off. In that very minute Levante were awarded their second penalty and missed it again.
Bordalás had turned to his bench with Kamara, Davinchi, Birmančević, Boselli and Mario Martín. Kiko Femenía, Djené, Domingos Duarte, Luis Vázquez and Romero himself were booked. Quintero González refereed the match.
