Getafe arrived on 26 points and in need of a home win. They got it with two well-spaced blows and some suffering at the end.

The first came from twelve yards. In the 41st minute, Arambarri converted a penalty for the 1-0 with which the hosts went in at the break.

The second arrived early after the restart. In the 53rd, Satriano made it 2-0 and, with it, scored his first goal in the Primera División: the Uruguayan had found the net before in France and Italy, but never in LaLiga.

Villarreal got back into the game in the 76th through Mikautadze, who had just come off the bench. Getafe defended the 2-1 through the final quarter of an hour with Boselli, Javi Muñoz, Nyom and Liso on the pitch.

Zaid Romero and Diego Rico were booked. Sesma Espinosa refereed the match. Nyom also reached 100 Primera División appearances with Getafe.
