Getafe arrived in Vallecas with 38 points and right in the middle zone, in one of those meetings between neighbours that are rarely decided by the football itself. It was not decided by anything: the scoreboard never moved.
What did move was Figueroa Vázquez's notebook. The referee started handing out yellows in the 7th minute and kept going: eleven bookings in total, six for Getafe and five for Rayo.
For the blue side, Juan Iglesias was booked in the 17th, Mata in the 39th, Gastón Álvarez in the 51st, Ilaix Moriba and Latasa in the 80th and Óscar Rodríguez in the 85th. The last three had also come on from the bench.
Bordalás moved his pieces early: a double change at half-time with Juan Iglesias and Mata coming off, and later Yellu in the 66th, Milla in the 77th and Diego Rico in the 90th, to bring on Angileri, Carmona, Ilaix Moriba, Óscar Rodríguez and Latasa. Íñigo Pérez answered with Crespo, Pathé Ciss, Nteka, Ratiu and Falcao.
None of the ten changes found the goal. The sharing of the points leaves Getafe with 39 and in the tenth place, level with Villarreal, which sits above, and with Osasuna, which sits below.
The afternoon also left a figure in the blue changing room: Gastón Álvarez reached 50 matches in LaLiga, all of them with Getafe.
