Getafe visited Mestalla with 35 points, in a stretch of the season with plenty of parity in the middle zone. They came back with the same total and one place lower.

The match was decided in the 40th, with Duro, who made it 1-0 before the break and sent Getafe to the dressing room forced to come from behind.

Bordalas did not wait long: in the 61st he made a double change, with Ilaix Moriba and Alena coming off, and kept working the bench in the 71st and the 84th with Diego Rico, Yellu, Oscar Rodriguez, Carmona and Jordi Martin.

Baraja responded by also using up all five of his changes —Diego Lopez, Peter, Thierry Correia, Guillamon and Amallah—, including Duro himself in the 84th, and Valencia defended the slimmest of leads until the end.

Ilaix Moriba was booked in the 43rd, Carmona in the 78th and Djene in the 82nd. Pulido Santana refereed.

The defeat leaves Getafe with 35 points and in the twelfth spot, level with Villarreal and three points clear of Alaves.
