The coach did not hide his anger at the team's display after conceding five goals at home. He said he took nothing positive from the game and that a night like this cannot happen again.

Bordalás explained that he had picked a much-changed starting XI to rest players carrying heavy minutes and at risk of injury. Lugano turned the game around with two goals in six minutes, and the coach had to make four changes at half-time to bring back his regulars. In his view, the match made one thing clear: for now, he cannot afford to rotate.

He described the squad as "unbalanced" and stressed that this was not a reaction to a bad result but a warning he had already given before the season began. He also let his disappointment show that, in his words, what he had expected in building the squad has not materialised. Even so, he made a point of underlining his bond with the club: he cares deeply about Getafe and its supporters, which is why the situation is painful for him.

The club has strengthened the team during the campaign with the arrival of Dani Carvajal, and president Ángel Torres has shown he is willing to keep adding players.

With one point from two matchdays, following the 1-1 draw in Craiova, Getafe sit 29th in the league phase. Bordalás called for the page to be turned immediately: on Sunday at 14:00 the team visit San Mamés to face Athletic Club, a stronger opponent that will demand the very best from the Azulones.
