Getafe opened the 2012-13 season at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán against Sevilla.

Fazio put the home side ahead in the 33rd and Negredo made it 2-0 from the penalty spot four minutes later. Alexis scored the 2-1 in the 50th, but the scoreline did not change again.

Luis García brought on Xavi Torres, Barrada and Adrián Colunga; Míchel went off at half-time, Diego Castro in the 52nd and Lacen in the 74th.

Valera saw a yellow card in the 35th, Alexis in the 42nd, Pedro León in the 48th and Miguel Torres in the 55th.

Álvarez Izquierdo was the referee. Getafe finish the first matchday without a point and in 14th place.
