Getafe hosted Athletic Club ninth with 39 points, two behind Rayo Vallecano and four behind Betis.

Borja opened the scoring in the 6th minute. The 1-0 held for the remaining 84 minutes and gave Getafe all three points.

Luis García brought on Lopo, Lafita and Lacen; Miguel Torres came off in the 25th minute, Diego Castro in the 74th and Barrada in the 84th.

Fede Fernández was booked in the 38th minute and Borja in the 89th. Aduriz, Iturraspe, Ander Herrera and Laporte were cautioned for Athletic.

Iglesias Villanueva was the referee. Getafe reached 42 points and rose from ninth to eighth place. It was Borja's first goal in LaLiga for the club.
