Getafe were visiting El Sardinero in the semi-final second leg with the 3-1 from the first leg in their favour: ninety minutes to reach another final.

Munitis scored in the 6th minute and made the tie nervous. Casquero equalised in the 80th and left the aggregate at 4-2.

Laudrup brought on Gavilán for Pablo Hernández in the 38th, Casquero for Belenguer in the 55th and Albín for Braulio in the 62nd.

Racing finished with ten men after Òscar Serrano's second yellow card in the 75th. Belenguer in the 11th, goalkeeper Ustari in the 64th and Contra in the 69th were booked for Getafe.

Muñiz Fernández took charge. Getafe qualified for the Copa del Rey final for a second consecutive year.
