Messi opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 9th minute. Luis Suárez scored in the 25th and 40th, Neymar in the 27th and Xavi in the 30th — all before half-time. Messi completed the 6-0 in the 47th.

Franco brought on Escudero, Ivi and Álex Felip; Baba Diawara came off in the 48th, Juan Rodríguez in the 63rd and Pedro León in the 74th.

Getafe received no cards.
