Getafe visited Atlético de Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey round of 16.

Diego Costa opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 18th minute. Filipe Luís extended the lead in the 79th and Diego Costa sealed the 3-0 in the 86th.

Luis García brought on Xavi Torres, Gavilán and Álvaro Vázquez. Barrada came off in the 65th minute, Lacen in the 75th and Diego Castro in the 79th.

Diego Castro was booked in the 14th minute, Alexis in the 17th, Valera in the 63rd, Álvaro Vázquez in the 71st, Xavi Torres in the 87th and Lafita in the 89th.

Mateu Lahoz was the referee. Getafe were left needing to overturn a three-goal deficit in the return leg.
