Getafe opened the 1987-88 season at the Coliseum, on the first matchday of Group 3 of Segunda B.

Sebas II scored in the 35th, Sebas I in the 73rd and Rivera in the 80th.

The first change came in the 10th, with Bonilla coming on for Flores. Míchel then came on for Sebas I in the 81st.

Benito, Sebas II himself and Carlos Morales were the Getafe players booked; Las Palmas Atlético finished with ten men after Pedro Luis's sending-off in the 84th.

Carmona Méndez officiated. Getafe began the season second with 2 points, with Caballero, Benito, Sánchez Duque and Rodolfo making their debuts for the club in the division.
