Getafe hosted Racing in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals, two games away from repeating the final they had played the previous year.

De la Red scored in the 24th and Smolarek equalised four minutes later. Casquero put them ahead again in the 37th and Manu del Moral sealed the 3-1 in the 82nd, his first goal in the Copa del Rey.

Laudrup only made two changes: Albín came on for Uche in the 66th and Tena for Belenguer in the 76th.

Cata Díaz in the 34th, Contra in the 73rd and De la Red in the 80th were booked for Getafe; for Racing, Òscar Serrano in the 44th, Oriol in the 61st and Colsa in the 79th.

González Vázquez refereed. Getafe took the first leg 3-1.
