Getafe arrived at Anoeta sixth and on 41 points. They left on 44, with one of those wins that are explained not by the football but by the details.

The first came in the 14th minute, and it was one of those that change a match without appearing on the scoreboard: Brais Méndez had a penalty to put Real Sociedad ahead and missed it.

The second came fifteen minutes later. In the 29th, Gorrotxategi turned the ball into his own net for the 0-1 that would prove decisive. Getafe did not score again, and did not need to.

The rest was resistance. Abqar, Juan Iglesias, Arambarri, Milla and Nyom were booked, and Bordalás emptied his bench with Diego Rico, Nyom, Javi Muñoz and Liso to protect the lead. Busquets Ferrer refereed the match.

The night also left a number worth remembering: Djené played his 300th match in the Primera División, every one of them with Getafe.
