Getafe played the Copa del Rey final at the Santiago Bernabéu, their first ever, after knocking out Barcelona in the semi-finals.

Kanouté scored on 10 and the 1-0 held for the remaining eighty minutes. Kanouté himself was sent off on 89, with no time left for Getafe to take advantage.

Schuster moved his attack in the final third: Vivar Dorado came on for Nacho on 71, Verpakovskis for Manu del Moral on 79 and Pachón for Contra on 83.

Paredes saw yellow on 39, Güiza on 45, Belenguer on 49, Nacho on 63, Celestini on 87 and Pulido on 89 for Getafe; for Sevilla, Renato on 26 and Duda on 89.

Rodríguez Santiago refereed. Getafe were left one match short of the first title in their history.
