Apoño put Málaga ahead in the 10th and Edinho made it two in the 44th. An own goal from Stepanov in the 62nd left the 2-1 and the tie open.

The first change came early: Mario came on for Mané in the 21st. Afterwards, Pedro Ríos came on for Adrián in the 67th and Parejo for Albín in the 78th.

Adrián in the 42nd and Casquero in the 53rd saw yellow for Getafe; for Málaga, Xavi Torres in the 22nd, Weligton in the 33rd, Valdo in the 45th, Stepanov in the 60th and Benachour in the 78th.

Muñiz Fernández refereed. Getafe would play for their place in the quarter-finals at the Coliseum. Pedro Ríos made his Copa del Rey debut with the club.
