Getafe opened their Copa del Rey campaign at Portugalete in the first leg of the round of 32, with half the side making their debut in the competition.

Getafe scored early: Sardinero made it 0-1 in the 6th minute, the club's 150th goal in the Copa del Rey. Bergara equalised in the 52nd.

Míchel shuffled his side in the final stretch: Escassi came on for Albín in the 67th, Pedro Ríos for Arizmendi in the 68th and Kaş for Sardinero in the 76th.

Miku was booked in the 42nd, Arizmendi in the 44th and Álex Pérez in the 88th for Getafe; for Portugalete, goalkeeper Macías in the 35th, Otiñano in the 54th and Gorka Soria in the 59th.

Teixeira Vitienes refereed. Pintos, Escassi, Mosquera, Álex Pérez, Marcano, Arizmendi and Borja played their first Copa del Rey game for Getafe, and Sardinero's was his first goal in the competition.
