Getafe visited San Mamés sitting fifteenth with 27 points on the twenty-fifth matchday, brought forward in the calendar.

Ezquerro scored in the 35th and six minutes later Athletic had the second from the penalty spot: Iraola did not convert it, with Sergio Aragoneses in goal. Kome equalised in the 64th and Míchel turned the match around in the 79th.

Quique Sánchez Flores switched Diego Rivas at half-time for Míchel — who ended up scoring the winner — and brought on Craioveanu for Riki in the 82nd and Asen for Kome in the 88th.

Belenguer, Kome, Mario Cotelo, Albiol, Diego Rivas and Míchel were booked for Getafe; for Athletic, Jon Moya and Etxeberria.

Fernández Borbalán was the referee. Getafe climbed to thirteenth place with 30 points.
