Getafe played host to Espanyol, bottom and pointless, on matchday 4: they had failed to pick up a point in their first three games since marking their LaLiga debut.

The only goal came in the 10th minute and was an own goal: the records credit it to Ibarra. That strike gave Getafe their first three points in their history in the division.

Quique Sánchez Flores brought Riki on for Yordi in the 67th minute, Craioveanu for Gallardo in the 73rd and Belenguer for Gabi in the 88th.

Amaya, Diego Rivas, Mario Cotelo and Riki were booked for Getafe, and Lopo for Espanyol.

Carmona Méndez took charge. Getafe moved up to 17th place with 3 points. Amaya and Belenguer were making their LaLiga debut for the club.
