Barcelona settled it before the break: Messi scored in the 22nd and Villa in the 33rd. Pedro scored the third in the 64th and Manu del Moral pulled one back from the spot in the 70th.

Míchel worked the bench across five minutes: Parejo came on for Casquero in the 63rd, Albín for Víctor Sánchez in the 67th and Arizmendi for Pedro Ríos in the 68th.

Both sides finished with ten men: Piqué saw a second yellow in the 68th and Boateng in the 79th. Pintos, Cata Díaz and Manu del Moral were booked for Getafe, and Iniesta for Barcelona.

Ayza Gámez was the referee. Getafe dropped to eleventh place with 13 points.
