Guayre scored in the 7th minute and Forlán added the second in the 58th. Nano Rivas pulled one back in the 81st.

Quique Sánchez Flores replaced Vitali and Yordi at half-time with Craioveanu and Gallardo, and brought Míchel on for Pachón in the 69th minute.

Yordi and Pachón were booked for Getafe, and Javi Venta and Sorín for Villarreal.

Pérez Lasa took charge. Getafe dropped to 17th place with 14 points.
