Getafe arrived at the sixth and final group matchday with four points: a win, a draw and three defeats in the previous five matches. In LaLiga they sat seventh with 23 points, having just beaten Villarreal.

The goal came early. Sardinero scored in the 15th minute and that 1-0 held for the remaining seventy-five minutes. It was his first goal in the Europa League.

Míchel used his bench early: Álex Pérez came on for Cata Díaz in the 41st, Escassi for Arizmendi in the 57th and Miguel Torres for Kaş in the 72nd. For Álex Pérez and Escassi it was their first Europa League match, as it was for Cañas, who started.
