Getafe played their first-ever European match at the Coliseum, in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Cup.

The match had no goal until stoppage time, when Uche scored the 1-0 on 91: it was Getafe's first goal in the competition.

Laudrup replaced Kepa with Albín at half-time, sending on Braulio for Granero on 70 and Sousa for Casquero on 81.

Twente finished with ten after Braafheid's second booking on 61. Pablo Hernández saw yellow on 32 and Casquero on 55 for Getafe.

Charlie Richmond refereed. It was the first European match for Abbondanzieri, Cata Díaz, Belenguer, Licht, Albín, Uche and Sousa, and the first with Getafe for Celestini, Kepa, Cortés and Casquero.
