Getafe opened the 2010-11 season at Cornellà, in the first matchday.

Osvaldo scored Espanyol's first two goals, in the 33rd and the 54th. An own goal by Galán in the 61st got Getafe back into the match, but Dátolo made it 3-1 in the 94th.

Míchel replaced Boateng and Pedro Ríos in the 56th, with Albín and Manu del Moral, and brought Adrián Colunga on for Parejo in the 79th.

Rafa, Borja, Miku and Manu del Moral were booked for Getafe, and Galán, Javi Márquez and Luis García for Espanyol.

Ayza Gámez refereed. Getafe began the league sixteenth and without points. Borja made his LaLiga debut for Getafe and Adrián Colunga played his first game in the division as a Getafe player.
