Getafe kicked off the Copa del Rey round of 16 in Almería, in Quique Sánchez Flores's first match in charge.

Getafe went ahead in the 21st minute when a ball went in off Verza for an own goal. The same Verza equalised from the penalty spot in the 60th.

Quique Sánchez Flores brought on Sammir, Astray and Emi Buendía; Sarabia went off in the 60th minute, Hinestroza in the 65th and Diego Castro in the 69th.

Velázquez saw yellow in the 30th minute, Roberto Lago in the 34th, Diego Castro in the 44th and Naldo in the 86th.

González was the referee. The second leg will be played at the Coliseum with the tie level at 1-1.
