The club made the deal official in a statement confirming the agreement with the Balearic side, although it did not disclose the transfer fee or the length of the player's contract. Getafe said Mojica arrives at the Coliseum to strengthen the left-back position and to bring his experience to the squad.

The Colombian has a long career in Spanish football, having played for Rayo Vallecano, Real Valladolid, Girona, Elche, Villarreal, Osasuna and Mallorca, the club he joins from. Outside Spain he has played for Atalanta in Italy.

A Colombia international, Mojica was part of the squad that played at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where his country reached the last 16, and of the side that reached the final of the 2024 Copa America. He was also included in Colombia's squad for the 2026 World Cup, where he remained one of Nestor Lorenzo's regular options on the left flank.

The full-back now comes under José Bordalás, who gains an option with experience in the top flight on the left flank. Getafe begin their league campaign on Saturday at Mendizorroza.

The announcement rounded off a busy day at the club: hours earlier Getafe had confirmed the return of Enes Ünal and learned that their opponents in the Conference League qualifying round will be Partizan Belgrade.
