Getafe CF confirmed the return of Enes Ünal on Thursday. In an official statement, the club announced the agreement reached with AFC Bournemouth for the transfer of the Turkish striker, who comes back to the Coliseum on a three-year deal until June 2029.

The move has been completed with no fixed transfer fee for Getafe. The agreement between the clubs includes up to €1.5 million in performance-related add-ons and gives the English side 20% of any future sale of the forward. The club did not disclose the financial terms in its announcement.

Ünal joined Getafe in the summer of 2020 from Villarreal and stayed until January 2024. During that spell he played 109 competitive matches in azulón colours and scored 36 goals, figures which, as the club recalled, made him "one of the great attacking reference points in the club's recent history".

In January 2024 he moved to Bournemouth, initially on loan and later on a permanent deal. His time in England was disrupted by injuries and he did not match the numbers he had produced in LaLiga with Getafe.

"I am very happy to be here again with my family, at home, and I am really looking forward to seeing you at the Coliseum," the striker said once his signing was completed. The Turk passed his medical before putting pen to paper and has already greeted his new team-mates at the end of training.

His return comes after the club confirmed that Christantus Uche will miss the entire season with a serious knee injury, a setback that left the azulón attack a man short. Ünal joins Martín Satriano and Borja Mayoral in the forward line of José Bordalás, who had been pushing for his return for weeks.

"109 matches, 36 goals and many memories later, Enes Ünal is coming home," the club concluded in its statement.
